Please note: The integration must be configured by someone with the appropriate permissions in D2L/Brightspace, typically an administrator.
1.) Register a Tool
Start by navigating to the gear menu at the top right of page, and click 'Manage Extensibility'.
Select 'LTI Advantage', then click the 'Register Tool' button.
Under How would you like to register your tool? Select 'Standard', then 'Register'.
Fill in the following fields:
Name: Flatworld Tools
Redirect URL:
Click + Add Redirect URL and enter https://ltiaas.flatworldknowledge.com
Click + Add Redirect URL and enter https://ltiaas.flatworldknowledge.com/lti/assignments/attempt
OpenID Connect Login URL: https://ltiaas.flatworldknowledge.com/login
Target Link URI: <leave blank>
Keyset URL: https://ltiaas.flatworldknowledge.com/keys
Check the boxes for the following items under 'Extensions':
Assignment and Grade Services
Deep Linking
Names & Roles
Under Roles, select 'Send Institution Role.'
Click the Register button at the bottom to proceed.
A 'Brightspace Registration Details' pop-up will appear. Copy and paste this data to save it, as we will need it later in this process. Once you have saved it, click 'Done'.
2.) Create Deployments for FlatWorld Course Tools
Towards the bottom of the page, click the 'View Deployments' link.
Note: If you need to review the Brightspace Registration Details from the previous step, you can find them here.
Click the New Deployment button.
Create the deployment
Fill in the following fields on the 'Deploy Tool' screen:
Toggle on the 'Enabled' setting.
In the Tool drop-down menu, FlatWorld Tools
Name: FlatWorld Deployment
Under Extensions, check the boxes for
Assignment and Grade Services
Deep Linking
Names & Roles
Check the boxes for the following under 'Security Settings':
Select these options under Configuration Settings
Click the 'Save and Close' button at the bottom left of page. Please send “Deployment ID” to FlatWorld after completing the “Create the deployment” section.
This will redirect you back to the Deployments page.
3. Create Links
You'll be returned to the Deployments page, where you can view the deployment that you’ve created (FlatWorld Deployment).
Create the first Link (FlatWorld Books)
Click the New Link button to create a link to the FlatWorld Tool
Fill in the following fields:
Toggle on 'Enabled' at the top.
Name: FlatWorld Books
Type: Deep Linking Quick-link (Do not adjust the Width and Height fields.)
Under Custom Parameters, click + Add Customer Parameter:
Name: placement
Value: book
When finished, click Save and Close.
Create the second Link (FlatWorld Assignments)
Click the New Link button to create a link to the FlatWorld Tool
Fill in the following fields.
Toggle on Enabled at the top.
Name: FlatWorld Assignments
Type: Deep Linking Quicklink (Do not adjust the Width and Height fields.)
Under Custom Parameters, click + Add Customer Parameter:
Name: placement
Value: assignment_selection
Please double check the https://ltiaas.flatworldknowledge.com links before saving and confirm that they do not have any trailing slashes or extra characters. When finished, click Save and Close.
Once you have completed the steps, please send the following values to the Integration Specialist working on your request:
