Bookstore Online Order Guide

This article covers how to order digital codes or paper passes through the bookstore online order link.

Make sure your Bookstore is registered

In order to use online ordering, your bookstore must be registered with FlatWorld. For instructions on how to do so, please visit the below article. If you think your Bookstore may already be registered, please reach out to bookstore@flatworld.com.

PLEASE NOTE: the FlatWorld Online order system does not currently support print orders. For any orders containing print, please email bookstore@flatworld.com with order details.

FlatWorld Tiered Access Pricing and System

FlatWorld offers various levels of access codes. Each access pass level can be used to redeem multiple FlatWorld titles. The access levels correlate to the price of the online access to the digital textbook.

Bronze $32.95

Silver $35.95

Gold - $39.95

Platinum $49.95

College Success - $24.95

The online order process is designed to ensure you receive the correct level access pass. For example, you enter the ISBN or title of the textbook you are ordering codes for and your level pass will be reflected in your order. How to place an order

When you receive your unique online order page link from FlatWorld Customer Service, simply open it in your browser. We recommend that you bookmark or save the link for future use.

When you first open your order page, you will see your bookstore name at the top. To place an order, click on 'Create New Order'. You'll also see be able to view our vendor information, your order history, and be able to request your invoice. Should you require assistance at any point during your order, please feel free to reach out to our customer service team via the live chat bubble on the page (shown below), 877.257.9243, or bookstore@flatworld.com. FlatWorld Customer service is available Monday through Friday from 9 AM - 8 PM EST, Sunday 6 PM - 8 PM EST.

Building your order

After clicking 'New Order', you will be taken to the New Order page. This is where you will attach your purchase order, enter in the shipping and contact information, and add the digital codes and/or paper access cards.

PLEASE NOTE: Do not hit the 'back' button in your browser when placing an order. If you need to check anything on a previous page, please load it in another window or tab.

  1. Purchase order (PO) - enter the PO number in the indicated field. Purchase Order Document - click 'Choose File' button and attach the PO file (acceptable formats: PDF, image, word doc, jpeg). Note: You can do this at any time, so you are free to build out your order first if you don't already have a PO.

  2. Primary Shipping Address - this is the main address we will ship orders. If you need to change the address on a specific order, please provide the alternate address in the comments section. If you are ordering codes, an email alert will be sent to the primary contact when the order has been processed. Digital codes can be downloaded from your dashboard.

  3. Shipping Carrier Account Number - if you want us to use the Bookstore's shipping account (Fedex, UPS) please enter the number here. Clicking on the box will open a drop down menu where you can select the shipping method. For 2nd day shipping, please leave a note in the comments of your order.

  4. Contact - this defaults to the primary order fulfillment contact. If you need to change the contact information for a specific order, enter it here. If you need the primary order fulfillment contact updated permanently, please add the information in the comments field or reach out to FlatWorld Customer Service.

  5. Tax Exempt Information - if you see this banner and have provided your exemption documentation, or if you need to do so, please reach out to bookstore@flatworld.com.

  6. Book Catalog - this link opens up a window in a new tab that lists all the digital ISBNs of our titles, and the required access level needed to redeem that title. We also list out the product ISBNs of the digital codes and paper cards for inventory purposes.

  7. Add Item - this is how you will search for and add products to your order, described below.

Add Items Page

To make sure you are ordering the correct pass for the title, we ask that you enter in the book ISBN or title. This will help ensure that you purchase the correct level pass or paper card for that title.

  1. Book ISBN or Title - enter in the Book ISBN or search by title. You are allowed to search by the print ISBN, but the online order page is only for paper passes or digital codes. Any order containing print should be emailed to bookstore@flatworld.com for review.

  2. Quantity - number of codes or paper access cards desired for the title.

  3. Instructor Last Name - last name of the professor using the book for their course.

  4. Pass Type - select either a) digital codes to be emailed to you via spreadsheet (fastest method), or b) paper passes to be shipped to you.

  5. Click 'Add Item' and the appropriate paper pass or code will be added to your order.

Order Line Items

As the various products are added to your order, they will appear as separate line items on the main order page. The columns are as follows:

  1. EISBN/Title - the digital ISBN of the textbook.

  2. Instructor - The name of the instructor teaching the course.

  3. Qty - the quantity of Digital Codes or Paper Passes ordered for each title. If the quantity is incorrect, please remove the product by hitting the trash icon next to the line item and click 'Add Item' to add the product with the correct quantity.

  4. Pass Type - The access pass level and product type (Email Codes or Paper Passes) for each title. Example: for College Algebra - Gold Level Access Pass Email Codes. If the pass type is incorrect, please remove the product by hitting the trash icon next to the line item and click 'Add Item' to add the product with the correct pass type.

  5. Price - the cost of an individual Digital Codes or Paper Passes.

  6. Amount - the total cost for each title.

  7. Subtotal - the cost for the entire order, excluding any applicable shipping.

Review your order details carefully and click 'Place Order'.

PLEASE NOTE: Do not hit the 'back' button in your browser when placing an order. If you need to check anything on a previous page, please load it in another window or tab. If you need to make changes, please see the above steps under 'Order Line Items'.

When you hit 'Place Order', a confirmation window will pop up asking you to confirm your order, and remind you that any print orders cannot be processed online. Print requests must be sent to bookstore@flatworld.com to be reviewed.

Order Confirmation Page

Once you confirm your order, you will see the following page:

  1. If you see this red box and tax form message, please send your tax exempt documentation information to bookstore@flatworld.com as soon as possible.

  2. This is the ID for the order you just placed.

  3. This link will take you to the status and details of the order you just placed.

  4. To view all of your orders, you can click on this link. You can always view all your orders through your main order link.

FAQ

What is the difference between a digital code and a paper pass?

Digital codes will be emailed to you in an excel spreadsheet. A paper pass is a physical card with a scratch off code.

Can I use a print ISBN when ordering a digital code or paper pass?

Yes, you can use a print ISBN when ordering, but you WILL NOT receive a print copy of the book. Print orders are subject to review and must be sent to bookstore@flatworld.com.

How can students redeem thier codes?

What do I enter if I don't have a book ISBN?

You can enter in the title of the book if you have it, but at this time we ask for either the title or ISBN in order to guarantee the correct access level is purchased for each book.

How can I get an invoice for my order?

You can request your invoice from your store's dashboard. Please allow 2 business days for it to post.

What is the PO information needed?
